My Experience with Psychic Events @ The Travellers Rest (Kenton).

Thanks to 'Psychic Events' for giving me the opportunity to give Reiki at their event last Tuesday, I really enjoyed the evening.  I met and talked to several people, some were giving tarot readings, others were selling jewellery and mystic materials, such as chrystal balls and angel cards. I also met another healer who was holding an opening launch day at his new premises 'Alternative Holistic Therapy Centre' in Harrow. I discovered a book that was given to me called 'Its Ok NOT To Be Ok' I found this particularly interesting because it had a chapter on Universal Energy. If anyone is unsure about how Universal Energy works, I recommend they have a look at this book.

It was really enjoyable networking and being able to give something to others. Reiki has really taken me on a rewarding path and I hope it continues. Thanks & love to everyone.

A Drop of Reiki @ St Lukes Pamper Night Review

This was a enlightening evening. I met up with alot of other therapists, specialising in a range of therapies, Reflexology, Hair and beauty, Massage.  It was really interesting talking to others who were taking part in this event. Lots of people were interested in Reiki and how it works to help the body. I am looking forwards to taking part in other events in and around the Harrow area.  Its so good to be able to share Reiki with others.
It was lovely to be a part of St Lukes event, and help to raise money for their cause. I raised £15 for the patient care at the Hospice. Many thanks to all those who came along, I hope you enjoyed the therapies you received.

Local Events this Weekend

Invinity Event in Harrow

Yesterday I visited the 'Invinity Event' in Harrow.  Here I discovered some of the local mediums, healers and physchics.  The afternoon was very relaxing and I got talking to a Reiki healer.  There was also a ghost hunt,  several cameras were set up and were said to be filming orbs and different energies around the building. I was lucky enough to try a Reflexology treatment for the first time, which I found really relaxing.  I will learn more about Reflexology in the future. There were also some natural products and chrystals available to buy. I would like to thank the team for such an enlightening afternoon.

Mystic Craft & Holistic Fayre in South Oxhey

I visited the 'Mystic Craft & Holistic Fayre' today and enjoyed every minute of it.  There were therapists, phsychics and mediums. I had a chat with a lady who was selling hand made chrystal jewellery. She was telling me about how you can use chrystals as part of a cleansing technique to clear the rooms in your house.
I often where the jewellery, to give me strength and protection, but I am just starting to learn more about how the precious stones can be used in our every day life.   A very interesting morning, thank you.

Visualisation Techniques

'The Visualisation Technique' can be described as a 'meditative state' of which we imagine the perfect outcome to a future event.

Many famous athletes use visualisation techniques. Some F1 racing drivers have been known to visualise a perfect race and track before they start their race, putting them into a positive mental state.

We are always imagining events in our mind before they happen.  If we build events up to be bad, we are creating a negative feeling which can make the event a bad experience.  When we use the 'visualisation technique', we build an event up to be good, then we create good feelings and therefore the event can result in a positive experience.

Reiki Love

I often give my self some self healing before I go to sleep at night. I am a light sleeper and often have problems going to sleep. Reiki helps me to relax and let go of the things buzzing around my head. I feel love and peace when I perform Reiki on myself and on others. It is a wonderful therapy that can be used regularly for relaxation. You don't have to be unwell to have a treatment.

When I Received  Reiki

When I received Reiki for the first time I  felt a lot of feelings being pulled from my heart. I describe this experience as Emotional Release.  I felt quite emotional and I let go of a lot of negative feelings, such as regret, resentment and heartbreak. It felt a bit like someone was 'tugging at my heart strings'  I really felt like I needed to rest after my first treatment.

Different Reactions

People are different. Not everyone experiences Reiki in the same way. Some people don't feel a thing when having Reiki treatment.  Many of the people I have treated have found it relaxing and peaceful and have fallen asleep.

Healing My Gran

I gave Reiki to my Gran because she had a problem with her hand, she was having problems with her circulation and stiffness in her fingers.  Whilst I was giving Reiki, I was instructed to gently hold the middle finger as the energy needed to work from the middle finger up into the wrist. I later found out that my Gran was suffering from 'Carpole Tunnel Syndrome'. This is caused by the compression of the 'key nerve' in the wrist. The 'median nerve', which runs from the forearm into the hand becomes pressed or squeezed at the wrist. I also knew without asking that there were problems with her circulation and that she was feeling a tingling sensation in her hand. This was one of the many magical experiences I had when working with Reiki. I was amazed at the help I was receiving when performing Reiki.

Art Classes and Exhibitions for Artlovers

Art can be very therapeutic. Just viewing art can help us to feel good. Learning art is also good for the spirit.
The NHS use Art Therapy as a tool to help people interact with one another and this helps to improve their outlook and make them feel better. If you are interested in looking at art or learning art. There are lots of art classes you can join and you don't have to be an expert. Chris teaches water colour art and holds exhibitions regularly at www.chrishaleartlovers.blogspot.com.  Follow and see the latest on exhibitions and classes or visit www.chrishale.artlovers.co.uk

Move and Groove...We love Fitness!!

Fitness is also good for the spirit and the soul. I go to a Zumba class  and  Linedancing classes. The best way to keep fit is to find a class you enjoy. If you have problems with your fitness, it is always best to tell the teacher before you start the class. Pilates is especially good for the back, as it strengthens the core muscles ( stomach muscles ).  Dancing is a fun way of keeping fit.
The below video is of a few basic steps from 'Zumba fitness', we have learnt some of these steps, but we don't look as fit as this...lol.

This lady below, talks about how Pilates can help strengthen the back, I will be putting further info about this on my future blog posts and also on my website. I have been doing pilates classes and find it is a good way of keeping our stomach muscles flat and toned. The breathing techniques are very important and you must learn them before you do any of the Pilates moves. Always take the class at your own pace and do what you can do...

Now back to the fun stuff! I know the 'Electric Slide' dance. Its really fun and this guy looks like hes enjoying teaching it...

As you can see, Line dancing is repetitive, this makes it easy to learn. It can also be danced to really popular music, so its not all country style stuff. Its another dance class where you can work at your own pace too and there are lots of variations to each step, so its up to you which ones you choose to use.

Michael Sobell Vintage Fair - Good for the Spirit!

I visited the Vintage fair with my friends from the 'Coffee Pot', not a bunch of coffee lovers, but social lites who enjoy all sorts of activities including, shopping, dancing and eating...great company for a visit to a vintage fair.  With a combination of good friends, food, dancing, music and vintage clothing, how could we go wrong?

We ate cupcakes, watched Jive Swing and browsed through a collection of bargain priced vintage clothes and jewellery, not forgetting the vintage cars.

We also had the opportunity to get our own treasures valued.
I really enjoyed watching the 'Joy of Vintage Fashion Show' there were some beautiful dresses and bags.
The Jive Swing Dance Demo looked fun, lots of people learning to dance and really getting into the spirit of things.

A simple combination of good entertainment made my day. It was good for the spirit, and a tonic for the soul!

Deal or no Deal - Mind or Matter?

I have been watching 'Deal or no Deal' for some time now, and occasionally try to guess whats in the box before it is opened...I can sometimes get the amount right.  I also have a strong feeling that tells me what is in the box at the end of the game.  Many people say the game is all down to luck, others would say fate plays a  part in the end results. I have seen contestants who have had a positive outlook all the way through the game and win a big amount. Maybe the mood of the contestant counts?  Other contestants have known that they are going to win and have won a big amount and beat the banker. I really do think that we all have a certain amount of telepathy within us and that it is stronger in some of us than others.

Did Andy Murray experience the 'Snowball Affect' ?

Andy Murray lost in the match with Rafael Nadal, but was this all due to the mind?  Murray played the first part of the match well, but further down the line, his level of play dropped.
Viewers could see that he was missing straight shots and trying harder every time he lost a game.

Trying too hard can lead to the build up of negative thoughts in the mind creating what is known as 'The Snowball Affect.'  Its like a snowball gathering snow (thoughts in the mind).  If we pay too much attention to our negative thoughts this can lead to further mistakes and cause the situation to become stressful.  This is what is called a 'negative mind set' so in order to stop this mind set we need a plan of action.  What do we do in these situations? Remember we create our own thoughts. Thoughts are just thoughts and only thoughts. When we hear a negative thought it is best not to pay too much attention to it, just let it pass through your mind.  We all know that often one thought leads to another and another and another...this is 'The Snowball Affect.' If we become aware of our first negative thought we can often stop the next one by saying a phrase to distract the mind, such as "Here I go again" and then letting the thought flow through our mind. This takes practise, but does work in time. There are also meditations that can help with the negative mind set.

Watching the game I did wonder, did Murray experience 'The Snowball Affect' whilst playing against Nadal?

Mind Body Spirit Festival 25th May 2011

Deep Listening - Yoga & Sound

I attended the Mind Body Spirit Festival in London and enjoyed watching Lisa Sanfilippo and Jason Kalidas. They combined music and Yoga together. Listening to the music was a relaxing experience. Yoga is a good exercise to do, as it keeps your attention on what you are doing (Keeps you in the moment) and helps the body with fitness.  Lisa was very flexible, and I was amazed at some of the movements she achieved, its amazing what the physical body is capable of.

Aura Reading

I have been able to see my Aura, but always wanted to confirm that the colour was Turquoise.  I managed to get a photo of my Aura and found out that I had been right in thinking that my arms had Turquoise around them and my head had yellow and green around the top of it.  I also received a Aura Reading, which was quite insightful, I was told that I was very communicative and must take care of my emotions. This reading was quite significant to me at the time. The Aura can change from minute to minute according to your emotions, but it is said that there is always a base colour that stays the same.

Diana Cooper

Healing Angels were walking around the Festival and a member of my family was fortunate enough
to get a healing from one of them. She also held my hand for a short amount of time and I felt warmth and love from this lady.

I also picked up a Meditation CD ' Meditation to connect with Archangel Michael' I listened to this and found it to be so relaxing and protecting.  The CD focuses on the Throat Chakra which is the blue Chakra and explains how this is related to freedom of speech. We can use the Colour blue, and the Gem Stones Aquamarine, Turquoise and
Chalcedony to help us clear negative energy within the Throat Chakra.

Viewing Art

I was moved when viewing a film during a Study Day with the NHS. The short film was a collection of paintings created by patients who had taken part in Art Therapy.  The combination of art and music touched my emotions.  This experience shows that we could be viewing a work of art, or creating one, but we all get touched emotionally in some way.

Sharing our experiences bring us together and that is what makes us stronger and what helps our spirits to grow.

Art Therapy at the Nhs - Ginas' Art Therapy Story

This is an example of how Art Therapy is helping others within the NHS.  Just by drawing we are expressing our inner personal feelings. Expression helps us with our problems.  Art classes can be a way of building on our creative side and on our spirituality.

Art helps us to stay in the moment whilst creating and learning from one another. Many of us open up whilst taking part in Art Sessions.  Some of us find it meditative and this is also how it helps the spirit and mind to relax.

Our spirit - Imagine an onion

I took part in a course yesterday and I was given this concept of describing our spirit.
Compare your spirit to an onion, it has many layers.

The most visible characteristics are on the surface in the first layer. These are the most public parts of you, that everyone sees, even the people you meet that don't know you very well.

The second layer is under the public layer and is what fewer people see.
These are the things that you are happy for friends and colleagues to know about.
The people who know about this layer know you in a public role and will be able to describe what kind of a person you are.

The third layer is more personal and only a few people who are very close to you know about this layer.
This layer may include your upbringing or background as well as your present life, feelings or experiences you are anxious about or situations that leave you feeling vulnerable.

The final part is the middle of the onion. Your heart, the heart of who you are. The real you.

Cultural & Spiritual Awareness @ Mount Vernon Hospital / Michael Sobell House 27th April 2011

Whilst taking part in this interesting course I was given a poem. This made me think of my Grandmother, who is now in a residential home and is in her 90s. She is living a long life and I love her with all my heart...

What do you see, nurses, what do you see?
What are you thinking when you're looking at me?
A crabby old woman, not very wise,
Uncertain of habit with faraway eyes?

Who dribbles her food and makes no reply
When you say in a loud voice "I do wish you'd try!"
Who seems not to notice the things that you do,
And forever is losing a stocking or shoe.....

Who, resisting or not, lets you do as you will,
With bathing and feeding, the long day to fill...
Is that what you're thinking? Is that what you see?
Then open your eyes, nurse; your not looking at me.

I'll tell you who I am as I sit here so still,
As I do at your bidding, as I eat at your will.
I'm a small child of ten... with a father and mother,
Brothers and sisters, who love one another.

A young girl of sixteen, with wings on her feet,
Dreaming that soon now a lover she'll meet.
A bride soon at twenty-my heart gives a leap,
Remembering the vows that I promised to keep.

At twenty-five now, I have young of my own,
Who need me to guide and a secure happy home.
A woman of thirty, my young now grown fast,
Bound to each other with ties that should last.

At forty, my young sons have grown and are gone,
But my man's beside me to see I don't mourn.
At fifty once more, babies play round my knee,
Again we know children, my loved one and me.

Dark days are upon me, my husband is dead;
I look at the future, I shudder with dread.
For my young are all rearing young of their own,
And I think of the years and the love that I've known.

I'm now an old woman...and nature is cruel;
'tis just to make old age look like a fool.
The body, it crumbles, grace and vigour depart,
There is now a stone where I once had a heart.

But inside this old carcass a young girl still dwells,
And now and again my battered heart swells.
I remember the joys, I remember the pain,
And I'm loving and living life over again.

I think of the years ....all too few, gone too fast,
And accept the stark fact that nothing can last.
So open your eyes, people nothing can last.
Not a crabby old woman; look closer....see ME!!

It is said that an old lady died in a hospital in Dundee, Scotland and this poem was found in her belongings. Elderly people are just the same as everyone else. It is the soul within that counts.

Introduction to A Drop of Reiki

I have set up a blog and website in order to give people the information they need on their path to recovery http://www.adropofreiki.co.uk/ will never be completed, as I will always be learning and adding more.  Join me on my journey.  Discuss with me and others your views about A Drop of Reiki. What are your experiences on this subject? Your feedback will be most welcome.

Relaxation is the key

I know through experience that relaxation is the key to helping us deal with most difficulties, no matter if they are anxieties or health problems. The key is relaxation.  Reiki can help with relaxing the mind, body and spirit.

Easing the pain

Many of us suffer from pain every day of our lives.  Complimentary therapy can help us to deal with pain. Some therapies can be practiced without any cost, within your own home. Meditation, Colour therapy and Sound therapy are all part of our everyday lives.
